Our People
McKenzie Carrick is led by two passionate and enterprising people –
Nicole Milatos and her associate David Barlow.
Nicole Milatos
Nicole is a well respected and highly experienced senior psychologist who has practiced in the fields of organisational and clinical psychology for over 20 years. As a graduate of both NSW and Sydney University, Nicole’s diverse clinical career has seen her actively engaged in counseling, family law, crisis management, injury management, victims of crime assistance and Vietnam Veterans’ support. As an accredited court expert, Nicole is often called upon to provide independent expert advice in matters of litigation.
In the corporate arena her dedication and extensive professional knowledge allows her to provide timely and expert advice in any area of organisational need. On the education front, she acts as a mentor to young psychologists during their intern years; this has granted her the status of honourary staff member at the University of Western Sydney. She sits on and contributes to committees associated with the NSW Psychologists Registration Board. Nicole has just recently completed a period as Chair of the Australian Psychological Society - Sydney, a prestigious post that reflects her position as one of the more outstanding senior psychologists in New South Wales.
Outside of work, Nicole runs a 40 acre farm in the Southern Highlands of NSW. She is an active member of the Australian Defence Force, holding the rank of Captain in the Army Psychology Corp. When at home, she loves animals, livestock husbandry, horse riding and growing crops. A keen dancer and a budding musician it is hard to keep this lady still. She brings enthusiasm and a love of life to everything she does.
David Barlow
David has engaged in a wide variety of activities during his working career. He holds formal qualifications in engineering, manufacturing, business and education. A graduate of Sydney University, he has University Medals in several disciplines. His broad experience across many disciplines makes him ideal to head up the Learning and Professional Development group at McKenzie Carrick.
David’s eclectic career spans engineering, production and manufacturing in small and large organisations. He has teaching experience at TAFE, Tertiary and Secondary Education Institutions. Prior to joining McKenzie Carrick, David worked for 8 years in a consultancy role with a large international Leadership and Management Development Organisation which operates in 50 countries. During this period, he was recognised internationally as Motivator of the Year in 2000 and Sales Leader of the Year in 2001.
Nicole asked David to join McKenzie Carrick in 2003. He brings with him a wealth of experience in the development of people. He is passionate about behavioural change and believes that all people can achieve greatness within their sphere of interest. He is known for his high level of complex thinking skills and brings a keen edge to client strategic planning sessions. He is a positive, committed person that believes an individual can make a difference in our world. He regularly attends Leadership and Professional Development conferences around the world; seeking new ideas and methodologies that can assist our clients to gain the slight edge.
He is a keen adventurer, spending time in third world countries exploring caves, climbing mountains and assisting the indigenous communities in which he has lived to improve their standard of living. He has been involved in many adventurous situations that have taught him the value of leadership, timely decisions, risk taking and goal achievement. His current passion is white water kayaking.
